A beach for everyone

Beach Access

The patrol area from the beach extends from Beach Road to the south through to Pinaroo Point to the north.

We are located close to public transport facilities with bus stops on West Coast Highway before Saint Helier Dr 128 meters away, 3-minute walk. Bus 423.

The clubrooms have designated accessible parking (ACROD) within the main club’s parking area and a set down area, outside the club front entrance available for taxis and private vehicles, plus on the northern and southern sides of the club rooms.

Sorrento Beach has ACROD parking and designated accessible toilets. There is a beach access path via the main car park directly adjacent to the two ACROD parking bays. The access path provides accessibility to the beach shore, accessible toilet facilities.

Beach Wheelchair and All Terrain Walker

Sorrento Beach has an All-Terrain beach wheelchair and All Terrain Walker to access the beach for children and adults with disability.

They are in a secured storage unit adjacent the public toilet facility located to the north of the club house. Both the chair and walker provide access to the beach and are easily pushed over the sand and into the water. They are free to use but require booking through the City of Joondalup, Community Development Department. Additionally, thanks to the City of Joondalup for building a storage unit using the Master Locksmiths Access Key (MLAK) as an innovative system that enables people with disabilities to gain 24/7 access to a network of public facilities. Call 9400 4226 for more information.

The beach wheelchair was supported by the Department of Communities – All-terrain Wheelchair Access for National Parks and Beaches Grant, which enabled our Club to purchase it for use by the public at Sorrento Beach.
