On the weekend we presented club member Garry Bunford the Australian National Medal

The National Medal, established by the Commonwealth of Australia in 1975, is one of the original elements of our distinctive Australian system of honors and awards. It symbolises long service in organisations dedicated to protecting life and property, often at great risk to the members who step forward to serve.

Garry’s journey with the Surf Life Saving Australia community spans an impressive 23 years, a testament to his unwavering commitment to the cause. His journey began at Trigg Surf Lifesaving and continued for approximately 13 years with our very own Sorrento Surf Lifesaving Club.
